Spiritual renewal is integrated into the watershed model to reinforce the concept of creation care and help families to understand that God has blessed them with various talents and deeply loves them. The emphasis of the Spiritual Renewal (SR) curriculum on:

Equip farmers with the principles and techniques they need to farm in a way that protects the environment and is productive.Promote ideas and practices that protect the watershed where farmers live.Empower communities to adopt sustainable livelihoods that reduce dependence on deforestation-related activities.Foster collaboration among farmers to create a shared sense of responsibility for preserving natural resources

PILLAR 2: ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION (ER)

ER Goal: To ensure that watersheds are healthy and support flourishing communities.

ER’s approach focuses on creation care and sharing knowledge through the “Farmer Field School Model” with the aim to break this destructive poverty cycle. By equipping families with sustainable practices and fostering environmental stewardship.

The ER curriculum focuses on:

PILLAR 3: ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT (EE)

EE Component of the Watershed Model is modelled around Purpose Groups (VSLAs) and the formation of VSLAs is democratic (rules/guidelines are set by
members)

The strength of EE is in the power of VSLAs in reversing the poverty cycle with a victorious cycle
